CELI Italian Exams – Certify Your Language Skills

TheCELI exam(Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana) is an internationally recognized certificate for Italian as a foreign or second language. It assesses language skills in the areasof listening, reading, writing, and speakingand is based on the proficiency levels of theCommon European Framework of Reference (CEFR): CELI 1, CELI 2, CELI 3, CELI 4, and CELI 5.

TheCELI certificateis recognized worldwide byeducational institutions, employers, and government agenciesand serves as proof of language proficiency forprofessional purposes, academic studies, or residence in Italy.

Celi Impatto – A1

The exam lasts for all levels:

Written exam – 2 hours
Listening comprehension – 20 minutes
Oral exam – 10 minutes

CELI Ordinario:Standard exam without specialization, recommended for individuals aged 16 and older (A1–C2)
CELI Adolescenti:For young people aged 13 to 17 (A2–B2)
CELI Immigranti:For immigration-related purposes (A1–B1)

Unfortunately, registrations received after this datecannot be accepted.

The exam fee must be paid by the end of the registration period.

Withdrawals made before the deadline will be subject to a processing fee of CHF 30.
Withdrawals made after the deadline will result in thefullexam feebeing charged.
Withdrawals must be submitted exclusively via email.

In principle, this is only possible after the registration deadline has passed ifthe absence is due toa medically certified illness. The exam fee may be transferred to a later date; amedical certificate isrequired for this. Processing fees will be charged, andno refunds will be issued.

The evaluation process typically takes 3 to 4 months. Upon request and for an additional fee, you can request an expedited evaluation, in which case the results will be issued within 2 to 3 weeks. However, this depends on CELI’s capacity.

The CELI certificate is internationally recognized by educational institutions, employers, and government agencies, and serves as proof of language proficiency for professional purposes, academic studies, or residence in Italy. In the Italian-speaking cantons of Switzerland, theCELI certificatecan also be used to demonstrate the required proficiency in Italian for naturalization.

The CELI certificate is accepted for naturalization in Switzerland.
